Typhoon gas tank size

Sorry if this has been asked a billion times already, but I bought a '92 Typhoon recently. The manual says it has a 20 gallon tank, but when the needle gets to E, I only end up getting about 17 gallons in.

by do you mean that the inaccurate needle says you are empty, or that you are feeling the vehicle stop and go because it is pumping the last fumes, as a safety issue i beleive it allows a few gallons behind that would be a safegaurd against burning up a fuel pump. just my opinion, not entirely sure....

Sounds like your gauge is off a little, looks like you still have about 3 gallons in it when it reads E. But, you really don't want to run it all the way to empty anyway. You probably want to keep no less than 1/4 tank in it, cause when you get on it, (and everyone gets on it) the fuel will slosh to the back, away from the fuel pump, and you will basically sputter as you run out of fuel, and this is not good for it if you're really into a lot of boost.
