Typhoon in marietta GA

This is Nick's little brother Ben. I found a typhoon in Marietta GA that I am interested in purchasing. Was wondering if any of you awesome Sy/Ty owners would help me take a look at it.

From talking to the owner, he replaced the fuel-pump and kinked the return line which resulted in the diaphram in the fuel pressure regulator breaking. So the truck doesn't start and run right now (fuel dumps down the vac line if you try to start it).

So, could someone who knows Sy/Tys take a look at this with me and help me determine if it's a good truck or not?

I may be able to help. What's your timeframe? I have to go to Atlanta in a couple of weeks, but in the meantime, I could have my buddy Wayne check it out. He's as knowledgeable as most on here.

Sort of off topic but back in the day with the GNs I never heard of the regulator diaphragms popping. Seems like it happens all the time now with these trucks. They're the same regulators, literally.

Is it an age thing? Is it the increased ethanol in the gasoline? More wear and tear due to the batch fire vs sequential? wtf is going on?

I know its purely perception, but anybody have any half assed theories other than the gas?

Cool, another Ty in Marietta!! I have #0032. Black and gray. I am waiting to get another rear diff for it currently. Then it will be back on the road.
What color is that truck? I only knew of a couple around here in Marietta. Mine and another one that was forest green and gray from a guy who had a 69 Firebird, Subaru WRX STI, a Grand National, and several cars behind his shop ranging from Grand Nationals to other stuff he had back there that were in various stages of needing to be restored. I was going to buy his truck but he sold it before I could buy it. I think he owned Extreme 4WD or worked there or both.

Is that the black one for sale on Craigslist?
I looked up the address and I now exactly where that is. I drive by that Race Track station all the time. It's right around the corner from there.
