Used car lot Typhoon....HELP!!!

MUNCHKIN
The '92 Ty I just bought does the same thing in a slow circle. And also has a clunk under the DS floorboard. I have been driving it since Monday. I measured the ride height by the MTO and one side sets lower in the front. So I'm thinking TB mount. The owner was the original and it had not been taken care of like it should, not to mention 137,000 miles. But I got the price from 9,900 down to under 8,000. I just plan on fixing mine and loving it forever. It will still go baby go. As I did research (for a year) I got to thinking what's the fun with one which is perfect. Maybe it's worth more but, enjoy tinkering with it.

I was looking at a pretty nice one at the Corvette show in knoxville in october for 12,500. It had a few minor mechanical problems but nothing major. And there was an absoulutley gourgeous one at the Turkey Rod Run for like 16 so you could probably save your money and get one that dosen't have any troubles and end up coming out better in the long run.

I'd like to find the cleanest one possible for a reasonable price. I don't need another " It just needs.... " car, if ya know what I mean! This will be my daily driver, and I am SOOOOO ready for it, being as I drive all thru the work day.

Truckless. For now.

Don't get me wrong, my Ty is my daily driver, heck I picked it up last March with 102,000 and it's now got 111,800 on it, but you said
I don't need another " It just needs.... " car, if ya know what I mean!
and from my limited 9800 mile experience with one, that's exactly what these trucks are. I've done plugs (twice cause of TEC), wires, cap, rotor, Coolant Temp sensor, IAC, and I don't think I'm done yet. I still get a Knock Retard spike when building boost, and I'm sure there's other little stuff I need to do. I guess I'm saying with all the driving you'll be doing in one, know exactly what you're getting into, and be prepared for the "just another part." :) Good luck with your search, yours is out there somewhere. I found mine. :)

try this. tell the guy at the dealer you have 7,500.00 in hand ready to buy.
have your buddy call your cell phone while you are talking to the guy selling the ty. make it sound like you left your buddy a message about the ty and he is calling you back. start asking youtr buddy ???'s. how many miles whats it look like any dents. repete what he tells you. for example. oh it only has 80,000 miles really. tune up new tires hows the brakes. you get my drift. then ask your buddy. what are you asking for it again you had it in the paper for 8,000.00? tell him youll be up to look at it you will call him back for directions. i had this work for me a few times and a few times it didnt work. what do you have to lose.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna let this one go. I am not afraid of, or even a stranger to doing maintenance and keeping it running. No problem there, but I am not going to buy one that has more bondo than sheet metal. I would'nt give him 5000.00 for it. I did'nt realize the extent of the damage, until the body shop owner started pointing so many major things wrong with it. I think I'd be happier in a Syclone anyway!

OK....she's all that. Anyway, we found a mint Saudi SY today that we are very interested in. But we are leary of its value. The firm price is $17,000. My wife beat me to the new post, but it's under Saudi SY, if you feel like reading about it. Thanks for everyone's input!
