V-8 Conversion?

Sounds great. I also have a ls1.. the only reason I have decided not to go with it in the swap is the major work you would have to do to make the pan work.. the ls1 has the pump and pickup incorperated in the pan if I am correct.. I was just planning on using the stock 700r for now. The truck only has 27,000 miles on the clock but as i said there is nothing left pertaining to the original 4.3. although the 6 speed would be cool I will be happy with the auto. I have a t56 in my other s-10 and it is fun but also loses the lazy man drivability. I want my ty to lay down numbers and still chill in the air on a road trip and eat my fries too. Souds good do you guys have any pics of how it is comming?

Well at this point I havent been able to do much with the actual conversion. I did acquire the motor off an LS1 board out of the '00 Camaro SS with 36,000 miles for $2000. I couldnt pass that up. Most of them are selling for over $3000 for twice the miles. Anyhow with that said, I am out of state at the moment on a family emergency so its basically at a stand still. Unfortunately I dont intend on making a whole lot of progress until sometime in December at the earliest. I have purchased an oil pan off of a 6.0L truck, going to see if its gonna work or atleast allow more options as far as getting it to fit in the truck. One way or the other it should be made to fit. The skirting on the block by the crank area is going to be the biggest obstacle, its somewhat limiting in oil pan design. I am hoping to know more tho the next time I attempt to drop it in the truck.

Oh and BTW, I purchased a 5 megapixel digicam just for this event so there will be plenty of pics

the only thing i can tell about the twin turbo v8 syclone with a corvette engine is:
He wasn't pleased with the results, so he took the engine out, and now is putting in the c5 twin turbo.

Hey I sent Tony the link for that EFI controller system a while ago (on the main page) any idea how well it works ?????? The seem to be getting some decent numbers out of some of the cars on that site !

Yes, I'd have to agree the SDS stuff leaves a LOT to be desired.

I can't find the damn link but lee is a major import builder too... The page for his import swaps are exactly the same but full of rice. and have a spinning honda wheel.
