It doesnt look like GM's Site is updated yet. We just started receiving Long blocks of the 4.3L PFI in September. The manifold is cast iorn, and looks kind of like the manifold on the 8.1L. If you want to see a picture or maybe even see an engine, go to a local boat builder that sells Mercruiser stuff and check one out.

how about the open plenum carb manifold like the one that mike from AR used, I'm not really sure what heads he has, he probably has some NASA devoloped castings or something. I wonder if there is a carb manifold like that one made for the vortec heads that we could adapt??? hmmmmmmm

I have pics of when I tried to match a Daytona Dash up to a set of Vortec heads on a block. Didn't quite match up, but was closer than the stock setup, so it could work with some labor. If you did this setup, you are looking at some work and money spent for sure. Labor machining & welding & epoxying...whatever is needed to match them up, then money for machining for injector bungs & fuel rails. Then a plenum and throttle body...you can buy some of those to bolt up, but they ain't cheap either.

Been down that road.

Vortec spacer redux - most recent method (tried 4 so far) seems to work well. I made a couple of spacers from 1/4" square aluminum bar, bent to the contours of the lower intake. Glued in place w/ black RTV (the adhesive kind), sealed the remainder of the gap w/ red RTV. Permatex #1, #2 and JBweld don't stay stuck long term. By *not* spacing the intake up, you get a poor relationship between the injectors & intake valves. Its a PIA, involves spacing the distributor up also, but gets you better flow dynamics fuel-wise.
