Vortec head mods

so i ordered some parts today for my L31 Vortecs. i got some 7/16" ARP rocker studs, 918 Beehives with matching retainers and locks. the four items ran me $350. the springs and stuff will be here in a week. i think i scored a good deal, the guy charged $190 for the springs...gotta love local shops!

so i got the studs pulled out, now i gotta get the taps from work, and go to town on them. i have de-bured the chambers, all the ports, and most any other sharp edges i could find. once i get the studs in, i can pull the valves, and do a little bowl work. can't wait to get these puppies on, and running.

anyway, i just thought id share with you guys. if anyone has any suggestions along the way, feel free to pass them along. -Jim

L31? what engine is that?

edit: I see it's for the V8. Which intake manifold are you using?

I'd imagine if they where press in studs stock its either early L35, or stock set of heads.

im getting the Edelbrock TPI manifold. i know its not a syty, but im using pretty much the same parts, and i trust the info on this site. hopefully you guys won't flame me too much.

anyway, i got one head done last night. i tapped 8 holes, and got the studs installed. i also enlarged the 8 push rod holes to 1/2". i took some pics, so ill post those up in a while.
