vortec heads and guide plates

Good morning all, and merry Christmas,

I am putting the top end together, with vortec heads, and trying to figure out if I need to machine down the heads for the guide plates. -the platform of the studs,-the thickness of the guide plates
using 1.52 full roller
I would also love to use the factory vortec valve covers, but im not holding my breathe.

No. Bolt on and go. It will make the studs taller by the guide plate width. Sometimes you will need the extra height. I had to change my studs to 1.75" to run full rollers on my heads. You already have non self aligning rockers I take it?
