Wastegate adjustment rod.....

OK......trying to shorten the wastegate rod a bit to increase boost a little. Problem is that once I do.... the rod is a MOFO to get back into the clip and get the cotter pin through. I remember reading somewhere you can use some compressed air to move the rod back very easily, is this correct? If so where would you connect to and how much compressed air is enough/too much?? Thanks for the help.

you should just be able to pull it. if its that short that you cant even muscle it back on there then it is too tight, and you need to look at some other reasons for your wavering boost.

its a bitch with the fender well in but not to difficult once you have a technique. i used a pair of needle nosed pliers to pull it over the pin. you can use a mityvac to pressurize the actuator but that seems like a waste of time when you need to make multiple adjustments.

the easiest way while your doing adjustments is to remove the fender well and use one of the best tools ever made. VICE GRIPS :D

Well, I'll give the vice grips a try this weekend. I have a Richard Chan upgraded actuator with a real stiff spring so its a lot harder to move than my stock one was. If that fails I'll try like 15-20 lbs of compressed air from the compressor. Need to jump the boost up to 18-19 PSI. Thanks guys.
