WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM?!?

I agree that you shouldn't ask for help and then not follow what people tell you. The search fuction does have some issues, but it can and WILL lead you to the right answers. On another note however, it is a personal choice whether or not you are rude in your responses and we should all try and treat everyone as if they are part of the SyTy family. Many times I read some of the long time posters/gurus responses as just plain rude. If you don't want to answer something because you feel it has been covered 10,000 times......that is fine....why even respond or if you do at least be civil. Just my 2 cents...........I know this board has taught me more about these trucks than I ever thought I would know.......and that is from reading, learning, and searching the archives not posting a new topic on everything that happens to my truck.

Where do i start. I did speak to brian. I did speak to peter who just told me to take the truck out of state. O and i am friends with naste. I do meet with them. Although i have yet to find out that one of them is a mechanic.

O and i would also like to add this. You guys always say how i never listen. I have been told "how" to rid my ty of knock. I was told to run redline through it. Done. I was told to run GM TEC. Ran 2 of them. I even did one better and motor vac'd it. A valve job was done, Upper intake cleaned, new black beauty's. I was told to run new plugs crt42 or whatever. I did one better. She has irridium's in her. 94 octane is all that goes in. I have ran 116 in it. MY knock does not change. It always max's out. I have a new o2 wich was checked via a scope. New map sensor, iac, cap and rotor. So please don't tell me that i have not listened. I value everyone's response. I do listen and i do take care of the items that i am told to fix. My ty knocks but it's not audible to the human hear. O it has a new knock sensor too. So everytime i post about knock everyone complains because they did not follow through on the thread to see if i did what they had suggested. So my problem never gets fixed. One more thing. The snap on data thing says that i have 5 degrees of kr when my dm says it's maxed. The snap machine also monitered the knock sensor. When the dm shows knock increaseing the snap on machine says that it's not coming from the knock sensor.

To my knowledge most of us aren't mechanics, we are our own personal mechanics for our trucks. Some of us are nice enough to help out other people's trucks.

I met up with some locals and learned how to work on my truck.
After owning it for 6 months or so, I found out about this board.

I have learned a few things here, but most is from actually working
on the truck. I am the type of person that learns more if I see it
happening, or am being helped as I do the work.

Get with some people who know a few things about these trucks, and
your whole experience and enjoyment of these trucks will change.

If you were on our side of the keyboard, how would you read that? You have no inherent right to anything from anyone here. I think your best course of action is to begin reading what you have written before using the submit button. I sent you a comment a while back about xxlolxx. Do a search on posts by that ID and you will see what I meant.

Thoughtful questions, not answered already in the archieves, posted in a respectful manner will yield like-kind responses. Emoting like a sorehead will get more flames. I hope you are able to get your truck sorted out. Just remember, there can be only so much troubleshooting done over the internet. This board cannot fix your truck. If you think it can or should, you will continue to be disappointed.

BTW - send me a DM file. Preferably one with a WOT run from a dead stop (boosted launch??). Also include ambiant temp, fuel you are running, miles since last tune.

I hope for your sake you are talking about finding someone in your physical location, and not about finding someone here on the board that "cares".

One thing I never understood about the Internet is why people using a free service (like this board) expect a level of dedication to solving someones personal issues that is far beyond what even "for profit" organizations would put into it. This board is free (unless you donate). Even then, you are not paying for the time that people give to post here. If you were, then you could complain about crap "service". Until you are paying for it, a little gratitude and politeness for what you do get will go a long way.

Oh yeah... If you have a personal issue with someone, keep it personal please.

about the knock stuff, since you have done everything buy the book, and with no luck, did you try replacing the ecm? might be worth a shot since datamaster and snap on are giving such different results, also, ever look into relocating the knock sensor? gl bro.

Well i may have just found something. I located some grounds that were missing. The one fron the - terminal to the chassis and the - terminal to the sheet metal. I also found the braided one and the 2 others that go on the drivers side head. These grounds are hard to find because they have been placed in the wrong spot or were not even there. Anyway my knock has finally come down some. The computer i checked out today to find out if it's even the right one because it's remanufactured. I have not replaced it though. I figure i will try to locate all of the grounds and then see where i am at.

In an e mail you sent me You said that the mechanics replaced your engine....you may want to talk to them as them are the ones who had to unhook everything to pull it out. They are probably the ones that dorked up all the electrical connections. It Would have probably been cool if they would have used some hi tech masking tape and, I don't know, label the wires as to where they were supposed to be bolted down? Are these the same guys you keep trusting to work on your truck???
We're most likely not gonna be able to help you as we have no idea what THEY have done to your truck. MAKE THEM FIX IT AS THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE OMITTED OR MISPLACED.
Keep trying. I hope they are charging you only what they are worth....

Just another reason NOT to trust your truck to just anyone.....
When you ask for help in the future, be mindful of what your ultimate goal is from the question you ask. In other words, do ask a question you don't need an answer for....
Don't mean to sound belittling or anything like that. All your doing is getting yourself worked up and pissing a lot of people off for no reason. Make them fix your truck. They are the only ones that can help you as they are the ones who took it apart.

Holy crap - it has taken me a day, 3 cups of coffee and 2 smoke breaks to read this thing.....

92 Black Phoon - you sent me a DM file. I briefly looked at it. It was at idle - it was quite hard for me to see anything. I'm not totally positive to read idle numbers - to me the rough idle looked like every other SyTy file I have looked at. I hope it is a ground issue that you have - for your sake. You have spent a lot of time searching for a solution - I hope this is it.

BUT BACK THE FUCK UP!!!!!

I don't know any owners who don't care about these trucks. For 95% of this board we probably have more SyTy crap laying around our houses then any other car we have ever owned. I have SyTy shirts, JL Syclones, a FRICKIN' Laptop I bought just for this truck. I have parts. I have license plates. Sometimes I think I spend more time worry about my truck's health then I do my own. For some of us - we want our truck clean - and not to the point of drive it through the car wash and go home - it is an all day adventure to wash it. Ever polished aluminum A/C hoses on any other car you've owned? Armor All radiator hoses? Smile when you walk outside and you see your truck - even if the POS is broke? Ever fixed a problem and it feels like a huge weight is lifted from your chest? Ever been shoulder deep in grime, face full of gear oil, smelled like a fresh tank of gasoline and looked in the mirror and smiled because you were done and it worked? Ever learned something while working on it and couldn't wait till someone on the board asked a question and YOU were the one with the answer?

I offered to look at your DM file because nobody else had. I have extremely busy at work (screw you Potter - I have been ) and I have looked at it but been unable to reply. This is about the most time I have spent on the board in a week - and that is because it is Friday at 11:00PM. I have helped others with DM - I'm far from an expert - but I am learning what is out there.

As far as not listening to people - you haven't done a great job if it. You keep wanting to bolt shit on. The "Why can't I get full boost?" post should have been "Why do I have so much knock?" And everyone would have asked you what you had tried. You are going to get pissed off because you have already told everyone what you have tried in other posts. Guess what? I can't remember everyone's truck and its problems. There are certain people who have stuff I remember - I have an gift to remember worthless shit.

To bad mouth certain people isn't gonna get you anywhere fast. You can bad mouth BG. You can bad mouth Daron. Anyone else - sure. But, you did the WHOLE fucking BB.....Not one or two of us. Anyone who has ever tried to help you. Anyone who has ever read your posts and been unable to answer. Anyone who has saw your name as the author of a post and didn't read it 'cause they knew you weren't gonna listen. Ask the list to answer your questions - they are generally helpful.

About the mechanic.....my dad is a mechanic - been one for years. He hasn't a clue about SyTyLand. There are certain things he does - but it is because it is mechanical. I trust my dad to work on my stuff more then anyone else - but if I want it to go faster - I am calling somebody else. These trucks are such a pain in the ass - you could make a full-time career being a SyTy Mechanic. Ask GM what spark plugs to use. Can't get CR42TS - ahhh use 43s. Got in a discussion with my dad about lubing the front poopshaft - he said it couldn't be done - which we in SyTyLand know that isn't true, right? Well, it doesn't have Zerk fittings.

What I am getting at is this - take it to your mechanic - have them do it all. Learn nothing. Oh one more thing......try telling a 53 year old mechanic how to do his job. Needless to say because of this truck I have had to do a lot of it - my dad just comes out when I rack my head on the leaf springs. He compares working on my Ty to working on a Vette - only worse. Ya gotta do your own shit. Ya gotta get dirty. It is the only way. You will learn then share it with the rest of us, right?

just b/c something is done wrong doesnt mean you re-install it that way. If you have wires that are dangling one would assume they should be connected to something. Your mechanic apparently does not know what they are doing(atleast to sytys), and by your attitude nobody here really cares to help you. Its not our fault if we dont want to help you. You should be grateful people even waste their time reading your nonsense in the beginning. Take what you can get for free, and if you got a problem with it go cry on someone elses shoulders.
