Re: What the best tire combo for zr1 wheels

The real grand sport rear wheels have a different offset than zr1 a molds also, correct DaveP? And a polished lip?

I'll answer for Dave... They do... Correct me if I'm wrong Dave.. But my rear 17x11 GS wheels are 50mm offset vs. the 36mm for the ZR1.. No wheel spacers needed  Oh and yes they do have a machined lip... But you know how it goes... Everything for me must be murdered out.. I had all of my wheels refinished except for my two 17x8.5 that I have in the parts stash...

See ya!!

Re: What the best tire combo for zr1 wheels

Just ordered some tires for these wheels I was just wondering if it's a direct fit with the 315/35/17 tires in the rear or will I need spacers and also in the front I went with the 275/35/17, will I need any type of spacers ?????

Re: What the best tire combo for zr1 wheels

Just an fyi; You're wrong again..............

275/40 and 315/35 ARE the same rolling diameter. This combination was fitted OEM to ~7,000 C4 ZR-1 Corvettes and Dodge Vipers. These vehicles are equipped with 4-WAL braking systems which need equal rolling diameters just like AWD systems require. There are not many mismatched sizes that are exact rolling diameter matches, but the 275/40 - 315/35 IS one of them

And dozens of SyTy.net members run this combination as well. Including myself.

The downside to this combo is that the number of choices for 315's is very limited. When I bought mine, there were only two manufacturer's still producing this size.

That is some really great info. I have been searching for the correct sizes on these things....looks like both Hoosier and Toyo make drag radials that would then fit on all four corners with these wheels.
