What turbo is this?

This turbo was on a typhoon I bought and was told it was an upgrade to a stock GN turbo. Is this an 850cfm turbo that was sold by ATR?

It is probably something like that. hard to say w/out any specs.

Pop off the compressor housing (make a reference point where it was first) and measure the wheel, then compare to the specs for your assumed turbo with ones made for the T-Type/GN. Size will also give you an idea of its rating. Can also do the turbine side. Also the A/R numbers will come in handy when hitting up a turbo web site to compare and find out what you have.

Its probably a te44. Look at the compressor outlet (where it connects to the intercooler) to see if anything inscribed on it.

Looks like a te44 or 47. Its a buick turbo upgrade. Somewhere in the vault is atr's old catalog. If you can figure out which one it is, the flow numbers are listed in there.

It's definitely an ATR. And the Flange is also.

Looks like a Te44 should have a 58mm inlet wheel 10 blade t350 70 trim. Exhaust wheel

Yes that looks just like the setup I used to run from ATR.. came with external gate and down pipe. 850 cfm 0r there was a 900 cfm option. Had to run 2800 stall converter to wake it up.

TE-44 E-Cover stock center section with a 63 garrett ex housing. I went 11.49 with one on a 3910 lb full weight GN. Pump gas on alky.

It looks like a GN turbo hot side with an upgraded compressor housing with a T04B wheel. I ran one of those in my Eclipse, and spooled really good on my 3.5L. It's good for about 350hp.

I've got this turbo setup 900 cfm on my truck with a 2800 stall, got it from Jerry McCoy back in 1999. At the time he ran mid 10s with race gas on this turbo..

don't recall now but I think it was 27lbs. Jerry ran this turbo on his super motor with the ATR 3in exaust, no cat at the 1999 nats. may be able to find more info in archives. He also used the famous ATR 7th injector.
