What's a guy gotta do

Re: What's a guy gotta do

Well I'm not looking to tune the truck personally. Yet anyhow. As I stated earlier I'm just looking to log and send files.

You can use TunerPro just to datalog and send files. You don't have to tune with it...

I'm guessing that most guys that would be willing to look at your files and provide useful feedback would prefer a TunerPro file over a Datamaster file anyday...

Thanks. Any idea what makes the Moates ALDL cable superior?

I would buy the Moates ALDL adapter because you know that it will work. I have seen cheaper data logging cables for sale, some work and some don't. They seem like a crap shoot.

Every time I have set up a different lap top data logging tools for the various car I have owned, I don't think once it has loaded up and functioned properly on the first try. Usually I have to adjust a setting. Having a good ALDL is one less issue to troubleshoot.

Do you work for TunerPro or something??

I'm having trouble understanding why you're so adamant on trying to use an old, obsolete software with no support, when there's several modern, supported options that does the same thing Datamaster did and way more.

Maybe I'm just being fastidious about it, but to me it's like trying to make an old Walkman CD player work with a cassette deck adapter when you can go out and just buy one that will work much better.

No, s10blaza stated the EXACT reason why I am trying to get you to use TunerPro..

Just trying to save you a headache. I used DataMaster 10 years ago and it was OK then. Once TP came along I never looked back. It's better in every way imaginable and the non Real Time Tuning version is completely free... It just makes no sense to use DM anymore.. I'm guessing even the folks at TTS Power Systems realized this and that is why they no longer offer DM for our applications..

Re: What's a guy gotta do

If you're frustrated with the antiquated ECU and the availability of support... Why don't you invest into a supported modern engine management system?

Honestly, this is just the reality of cars of this vintage.

I'm full on going to a FAST XFI 2.0 and going to run E85.
