Where is drain for Front Differential?

havnt done it, but i think you have to suck the fluid out.. theres a "fill" but no drain.

Yeh, hes right ther is no drain plug. Shit has to be sucked out. Fern Sy#477

it's on the side, just take out plug and tip truck up on side, all the oil will come out.

But to get all the fluid out - the truck will have to be completely inverted - turning it on it's side won't get all the fluid.

Okay, really - get a fluid sucker - they are different than a Tootsie Pop - and suck it out. The one I used (I don't know if there are different types) requires you to suck some out - dump it in an approved container - suck again - repeat process until empty.

The shitty thing about the job is getting all the fluid out. After you get to a certain point you can't get any more fluid out - even though you haven't taken much out at all. What I found was to work is to insert the tube - have someone spin the wheel so the ring gear rotates - you will feel the tube drop in further. Suck again. It is more time consuming than it is difficult.

Get a vacuum pump from the auto parts store,they are for doing these sorts of things and very handy when you overfill a trans.

naw, turnin it over all the way don't work, tried it with one of mine. will send ya a pix of what it looks like if you try.

I changed mine years ago. Ended up loosening/removing bolts on the case, and sticking a screwdriver in there just enough to split the seal. Let the oil drain out and tightened the bolts back up. No leaks!
