Will not Start

At the point of finally starting my 92 ty after 8 months of work. Pretty much a stock build but with 50# injectors 3 bar map and chip to accommodate. It will not start though. With my S-10, I stabbed the Dist in 180 out a few times on rebuilds but I at least got a pop or backfire or something. I pulled a plug and have spark, and also smelled gas on the plug. The dist may be 180 out but is there anything that comes to anyone's mind that would help in a start after rebuild. I have gone through the basics and obvious stuff, fuel and fire. They are both there. Any tips would be appreciated.

Re: Will not Start

when 180 deg. off you won't get a backfire. cross the wires 180 deg. and check again

Re: Will not Start

I am not sure what the chip is but Believe it to be from moates. It came un-installed with the truck. That was actually my last forum question. I took the chip out to see what would happen and plugged the stock chip in. Still nothing. It is wierd, there is spark and fuel but no bang. Not even a timing is waaayyyy off bang. How is starter fluid on these. Would I need to spray it after the turbo?? It seems a long shot but who knows.

I did not think of that. That is easier than getting to the hold down bolt. God I miss the ease of tuning a carbed 4.3 on my old S-10. I haven't even driven this thing yet. Oh well it should be worth it.
