Wiring help please

SY POWERED SGT

New member
Finally go around to putting the SY/TY engine in my SGT. All of the wiring plugged right in but when I powered the truck up, a few things didn’t work.

Check engine light
No power to the ECM
No power to the fuel pump but the fuel gauge does work
No power to the left headlamp or signal lamp
Everything else works

The dash harness is the original for the SGT but the engine harness I think came from a Typhoon (due to the white overspray on the shielding) but I am not sure what year. There is no plug for the washer pump on the engine harness like the original. I was able to find a home for all of the plugs. I never got the ABS or the harness from the donor vehicle.

I know that the SGT dash harness does not have the 932 wire for the boost gauge, 904 for the low coolant and the 852 for ABS light and I did have to move the location of the 419 wire for the check engine light as the arrangement on the SGT cluster is a little different.

On the C101 plug near the ECU, not all of the wire colors match on either side of the plug. Not sure if this is where I should start? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Wiring help please

Dave is spot on.. I just did this when I put the Ty harness in my 93 Blazer. IIRC the power for the pink/black(switched ignition) circuit was supplied by the little C101 connector down near the ECM for the sy/ty harness.. For the 93 blazer it was supplied through the large C100 connector on the firewall.. You need to fix that first and foremost so that the ECM powers up.. Then you can fix the other 3 or 4 little things that don't match up..
