Just seeing if anyone has a kit before I start peicing one together
I just installed these hood struts on my Typhoon. They say for 94-04 Chevy S10 trucks but they fit and keep the hood up high. Installation requires some drilling and pop rivets.

Matt, is there a way to modify the kit to have it open further?
Cant beat 26 bucks. Anyone got a link for the mounts?
My mounting hardware came with my kit from philntx (board member). I don't know if he still sells them. They require no drilling, and bolt right up using existing holes.

Always ondered why people would buy these and then question trying to save weight. A hood prop rod from factory is lighter than 2 gas struts and the hardware to mount them. Also it's already there and free, nothing to wear out. I could maybe see if you ditched the factory latch and cable etc and went to a glass hood with pins but otherwise it's wasted money that didn't make the truck go any faster.
I'm not trying to save weight on this. Its the fact I put the aluminum core support in and can't mount the stock prop rod in a decent way without it looking like poo
