WTF? the Sy won't start. I did get it started, but barely. I was just pulling it out of the garage to wash it up and clean. Then I wanted to start her up again. It just doesn't want to start. Just cranks over. WTF? I just had her running just fine everyday for the last 4 days. Help.

I stuck in the fuel pressure gauge on the schrander valve and it shows NOTHING, no pressure! I guess fuel pump finally gave up. Is there any ways to try other things to make sure its not the fuel pump?

yeah, apply 12 volts to the test port to see if the pump runs. its a small plastic connector with nothing attached to it behind the fuel pressure regulator. just jumper a lead from the battery to see if it comes on.

Before you go pullin the bed or droppin the tank, get back there as far as you can with a voltmeter and make sure you have power going to the FP. I am assuming that you have checked for a burnt fuse. It may be possible that your pump may be out but be sure to check everything else out first I.E. wiring, FP relay, fuse, connections, Etc. Good luck

interesting, I did the small plastic connector thing and added 12 volts on it. And I did get fuel pressure, like about 45 or something. Then I started, it almost caught but wouldn't start. Anyways, I checked the gauge again it was low on pressure. Somehow it is not getting fuel pressure?

well shit, for the hell of it, I replaced the fuel filter. And it didn't make it any better. I did the connector thing and the fuel pressure would only go up to 20-30# and then as soon I take it off, it falls to zero.

Since the pump itself is good, the fuel pump relay could be the problem,
If you can have someone turn the key to on while you stick your head up near the tank. Listen for the pump to whir for about 5 seconds. If it doesn't, you probably have a bad fuel pump relay.

The relay is located under the hood on the drivers side above the wheel well. There should be a couple little plastic boxes with wires going into them. Not sure which one is the relay, but someone else can fill that in, or you can just guess and check.

well, anyways, I had a local sy guy to tell me how to test the wiring to the relay and the oil pressure switch. In the process, I manage to blow the ECM B fuse twice. I am going to double check the red wire to see if I am getting 12V and the green wire for any V when on. If not, I am going to drop the ECM and swap it with the other one I have from my Ty and see if it made any difference.

this really sucks, I swapped the ECM and fuel relay and still nothing. I checked the red wire on the relay, I am getting 12V, I did the connector thing to 12V to bring up the fuel pressure. It goes over 40#, but as soon I take it off the power source, it starts dropping down to little over 10#. For some reason its not holding the pressure. I don't see any gas leaks.

finally its fixed. Nice of a local Syclone owner to tell me what wires to check for and test it out. The green-white wire is the power wire to the relay. Apparently the previous owner had put in an "anti-theft" switch. Basically an on and off switch. I happen to find one of the wire completely loose off the connector. Fixed that and she runs. Damn, all that work for just a loose wire!!! Argh....

dude, if it ran before you messed with it THEN IT DOESNT NEED A NEW REAR END, IT DOESNT NEED A NEW TRANNY, IT WONT NEED A NEW EXHAUST, GET THE PICTURE? SAME THING WITH THE FIRING ORDER HUH? "I ALREADY CHECKED IT FIVE TIMES!!!!" AND IT WAS THE FIRING ORDER HAHAHA. You just need to a take a second, pull your head out, and look at things. Shit just doesnt die because you turn the key off. You are so funny round eye.

whoa dude, sometimes simple stuff has stumped others every now and then.

BTW, I think u posted it on the wrong link. If u are talking about that one time we had with the firing order, that was on the other link. This one is the one when the wire to the fuel pump "switch" broke off on its own behind the brake booster.

Dude, looks like I had problems with the Syclone because of what others has done to it. I blame myself for not checking the firing order before pulling it out. Thats one thing, but putting in the distributor in off from what it should have been is another thing that some GM tech did with replacement engine. Then we have that "anti-theft" fuel pump switch that previous owner put in and had me stumped with the wire hiding behind the brake booster.

Of course I could be stumped every once in a while, thats why it is nice to have friends and online forum to ask questions and get some gudiance. Also I am not a certified mechanic so don't expect me to be genious, but at least I would be willing to help others out if they'll treat me the same.

I think its time for us to go for a beer or two.....
