Blk/Blk to Wht/Wht???

How much work/money would be involved for this to be done pretty reasonably? I'm not talking about a body off, paint the whole shell kind of paint job. Ifffffffffff I do keep the TY, it's going to be needing a new paint job because I have a couple of small rust spots that need attention. Also a cowl hood that needs to be bought :rotf: I would do a lot of the prep work myself including: fixing those spots, taking cladding off and getting that ready, sanding the old paint off, etc... Basically the shop would have to take the windows out and probably the body panels (fenders,doors, and tailgate) About 3-4K?

changing colors is typically considered a no-no in repainting without taking the whole thing apart. i.e. your truck is white, but when you pop the hood itll be black in the engine bay kinda deal. and then theyll be an issue if you decide to resell cuz theres gonna be somewhere on the truck where the paint is different, especially if you go two totally diff colors. not sayin they wont do a good job nor that its impossible, just make sure you if you go diff colors, get it done right the first time. just my opinion. :2cents:

If you are planning on keeping the truck forever, i'd do it, but if not, i wouldn't... One thing to keep in mind, is bodypeople typically don't like to go back and fix other people's work and or won't bother to fix somebody else's mistakes and will say, you told me to paint it not do bodywork and it will look like hell. I would suggest getting a couple estimates from a couple of bodyshops that you would feel comfortable with and take a look at some of their work. I think you will be surprised with the price you find out.

With what the value on the trucks are right now, i'd think about buying a black truck, instead of throwing the paint job money out the window

If you want to change from blk/blk to wht/wht I would just sell the black and buy a white. If you want to change the color, choose one that is not a stock color. Like I am in the middle changing my Ty from green/gray to all blue and its alot of work. Thats just my :2cents:
