I always wondered why you would need an engine strap?

So your alternator doesn't cut your upper radiator hose when your engine lifts during a launch.

Even stock trucks should have them. The motor mounts are not very good. My truck was stock when I bought it and actually had a patch on the upper house put on by the previous owner due to the alternator blades...
