Three years tomorrow

Well let me start by tears have already fallen today. If you are my friends then you know what tomorrow is. I can't believe it will be three years. Weird but I wonder things like would Dave like my short hair...stupid I know. I will say three years ago I kissed my husband good-bye told him I loved him and went to work. Never did I expect to come home to find him dead.* I have learned in three years I am stronger than I ever thought I was or could be. I have also learned I got pretty amazing friends.* But I also learned make sure the people you love know how you feel, you can't take back words you say or things you do.* We really are not promised a tomorrow. Make the most of today.

Re: Three years tomorrow

unbelievable, i knew that Sigo aka turbomaniacal aka ryan le vier called me up, saying it happend. i couldn't believe it, i thought it all was a sick joke, i never knew you man personal, only form the board and by stories from Ryan. after the impact hit me i got sick in the stomach.

i really hope you are looking towards the future, even that i didn't know him, only from here i think about the story once a week, every time i work on cars on stands the story reminds me of this.
how such a legend passed away by something like that.

Lisa i hope you are good, don't know if you sold the sy already. but i hope you are doing well.

Regards
Rene

Re: Three years tomorrow

i still get the chills when i think of it. I too never work on a car without thinking of him. Of all the things he taught us through the years, he gave us a huge lesson in safety. I'll never forget standing in the garage after the funeral just staring at the syclone with SY2932 and ERUE, no one wanting to say anything. The most painful thing was glancing not 4 feet from where he was and seeing some jackstands knowing he could still be with us.

I've never been under a car since and not been nervous...even when its support completely.

I miss you, Dave. :myclone:

Man time flies. It still brings a tear to my eyes to think of what you have had to go through. Keep your chin up you will get to see him again.

Re: Three years tomorrow

Tomorrow should be a reminder of both friends and family as well as being safe when working on our trucks. Every single time I have to get under mine or anyone's truck, I cant not think of David and check that the jackstands are properly set.

That hillbilly is truely missed around here. :myclone:

Lisa, you don't know me but the day I read about Dave I sat here in front of my computer and tears just would not stop, I did not know Dave but I wanted to do something, I didn't know what, So I called Marty and told him what I wanted to do and would he help me do it and he said yes he would be proud to. I am so glad I could help. I tell my wife I love her if I run to the store, you just don't know if you will never see them again.

Re: Three years tomorrow

When I log onto the board, the first thing that I check is any PM's that I have. I remember the PM that I got from Renz like it was yesterday telling me that he was gone :(. After reading that in disbelief, the thread in the lounge confirmed it. I had spoken to him the day of the accident. That was the last time that I ever talked to him.

Lisa, I have no doubts that Dave would love you no matter what you did. I'm sure that he would tell you if he could, how proud he is about how strong that you have been during all this. Dave wouldn't settle for anything less other than an exceptional woman. That's why he married you... I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. You can call me anytime if you need someone to talk to.

R.I.P Good friend, you will be missed by many...

the first thing i did was look to see if mike and erue , the 2 people that i knew were real close to dave, had seen yet...and they hadn't so i called them both, only erue answered, so i sent you a pm (hoping that you'd get a notification email to get you online). i cant even remember now if i then called blake and marty or what...it was so surreal at the time...still feels that way at times.

Re: Three years tomorrow

Hard to believe that was three years already. It seems like yesterday. I never met Dave, but remember he was a helpful and active member on this board. Thanks for stopping in and all the best to you.

don't know you or your husband but a loss is a loss and a sad one at that and i'm very sorry for your loss.

i don't know the story and i don't expect anyone to tell me as i am sure it is too painful to bring up.

hope all is well and will keep you in my prayers.

Re: Three years tomorrow

All of this happened before my time started here on .net. In the short time I have been here I have seen the impact that Dave had and continues to have on everyone here in the community. He will not be forgotten and will be very missed very much. My families thought and prayers are with you and yours.

Re: Three years tomorrow

i never knew him , but his posts live on as some of the most informative i have ever seen on here. i still check and re-check everything when crawling under ANY truck or car. every time i say "i'll just be a second under there". i think about myclone and DO IT THE RIGHT WAY ! if nothing elese, it serves as a reminder to all of us to slow down and use the jackstands.
:git: RIP BUDDY:myclone:
