Trouble codes! Ah

First off, I'll describe what happened to cause these because I know for sure I had no codes prior to this. Alright my brakes need to be bled and so I was leaving work and was on a hill and my pedal is just easing in until I felt it almost bottom out, so I put the truck in park and starting pumping up the brakes for pressure. So once the traffic is clear I put it in drive and take off. Once I'm going I noticed that my anti-lock light and brake light was on. So I pulled over, shut off the truck, then started it back up. They're still on but everything seemed fine so I ignored it. That all happened yesterday. So today I hook up diacom and drive around logging some short rolling "blasts". Well one of them detected trouble codes so I look and there's like 5!!!! I don't know them all, but most were about the ecm and timing having errors. Do you think I should reset the ecm? That's what I'm thinking because everything seems fine. On that run with the trouble codes I had like 7-8 knock but I'm pretty sure it's because it wasnt pulling timing due to the ecm and timing errors. What do you guys think? Oh yeah, bad thing is, I'm driving 13-14 hours to So Cal tomorrow night!!!!!

Pull the codes and look them up. The codes in DM probably dont have anything to do with your brake issue. To pull ABS codes you short different pins than you do for ECM codes. I dont know if datamaster pulls ABS codes, but I think its unlikely.

Re: Trouble codes! Ah

I'm running diacom not datamaster so it's not as advanced. Also, they just turned on while pumping the brakes. I heard it's bad to pump the brakes on ABS vehicles, but I had to do it. Everything seems to be running fine though. I'm leaving a 8 tonight and hopefully getting home at like 11-12 tomorrow :rotf:

Don't let fluid get too low, because if your ABS gets air in it they aren't fun to bleed. Just incase you wernt aware.Have a safe trip.

Well. I left last night at like 9 and got here ( so cal.) at about 11:30. Everything went fine, nothing broke!!!!!!!!!! LOL I have the ABS delete kit that will be going on in the next couple of days. Will those lights turn off by themselves or do I have to do something? I'll try logging a couple of more runs and find out what codes they are for sure, but I'm sure they dealt with ECM error/ABS error.
