Any ideas why the blue rubber FelPro gaskets are "intentionally" made undersized and must be stretched to fit?

I have used both on my other hot rods. I had a z28 with 638rwhp and I used both V R and felpro. both are decent. For me, it was not as comparing 94 octane to 87, it was more like comparing 94 to 94 octane fuel. No difference for me, both are great gaskets:2cents:
