removed front propshaft
put in neutral
held the outputshaft from turning with ebrake, rear wheels on ground
put a torque wrench & socket on the front flange nut brought it up to 150 lbs and no give keped the torque on to see if it would slowly creep, nothing

Would probably be cheaper to swap the entire transfer case.

With what? Another bad v-clutch? Think about it. With this many bad v-c's over the years, what are the chances of getting another bad v-c in the replacement? I would venture close to 100%, now.

I thought Bravada's and/or Astro vans had the same transfer case, although I could be mistaken.

They do. And those fail at about 100-125K. Most 15-20 year old astros and bravadas have this mileage on them by now. Look for a front driveline before buying. Many Astro/Bravadas in a yard haven't had a prop shaft installed for years. You can see the rust on the flanges where it was removed years ago. Usually because it's locked up.

My statement stands: at 250 for a new v-c, why risk 200-300 for another bad one in a used case?

No problem, not trying to argue. I thought bravada/astro transfer cases were going for $50-$100 pretty regularly.
