Cuz it is! I just bought a new Ty, a rare beast, Royal Blue with Royal Blue cladding underneath a decent coat of white on white Says: (WA-9095) (WA-9095) in the glove

Its not in the best of shape atm, but soon will be. I uploaded a few pics of it, some are good, others suck but you get the idea. More to come!

All the truck have the same upper/lower code.

Suffice to say the only real way to know the cladding color is by having a window sticker,which shows the Argent cladding as a $176ish option.

IMO the only RPO solid color trucks in 93 were possibly white,black,and red,but then again,it really depends on the window sticker.No sticker,no proof.

grrr, ill see what i can do, only thing i can say is theres chips of white and underneath on the cladding, fenders, roof, door jambs, tailgate pins, when chipped off is blue, no sign of grey. Better pics will be coming of the conditon of the paint and chips etc.

Sorry to burst your bubble of having the one and only known Royal/Royal in existence,but every SPID has the same upper/lower because the bodies were painted at GM sans cladding.

One more thing,if the original owner thought "Man,Ihate 2-tone.It would look sweet solid color"
Then got it painted before he even took delivery,it would appear to be original.

Same thing with sunroofs and pinstripes.If the dealer added it,and it wasn't done at the factory,it's not OEM.

hehe, no, no, I know. Im just throwing it back to you pokin fun. Something I didnt know, but it doesnt matter, as I pull it apart and attempt to document the conditions or w/e of the pieces and try to remove paint by layer to see if its grey at all.. Maybe it will be worth it maybe not. Either way I do plan on painting it to its original color scheme, was contomplating going argent on the cladding but dont think I will unless I see something definitave thats shows me that it was grey prior. Personally, I dont care for a solid blue truck, but I like the rarity aspect and will do what I can to preserve it. I do wish I could find the original sales reciept, prolly wont happen.

Cant Merk help me? Would that be something you can find out any other way? Any options other than the sales reciept? EEK ned help!

I do wish I could find the original sales reciept, prolly wont happen.

Some states have a system that current owner of a vehicle can do a title search and get in touch with prior owner's to get the history of said vehicle. Might be worth looking into.

jimmy is dead on.. 99.9% its a blue/grey truck... still rare and still an awesome color.. good pickup..

sucks that the firewall was painted (sorta) that will make fixing it a wee bit difficult without pulling everything..

When my 17k mile Sy got jacked and molested it kinda burnt me out on Sys, I do like them for the rarity aspect, but they arent practical for what I intend to do with them daily or what have you. Dont get me wrong I loves me a Syclone, BUT, I havent found the one for me in a while if you know what I mean

jimmy is dead on.. 99.9% its a blue/grey truck... still rare and still an awesome color.. good pickup..

sucks that the firewall was painted (sorta) that will make fixing it a wee bit difficult without pulling everything..

oh dont worry itll be empty and dunked into a vat of Blue.. Im going warmpancakes on this bitch!

Not trying to be anal,but really man it's a 14 year old truck,who knows what it's been through?
Maybe that piece of cladding was replaced with a new (black) piece,then painted Royal?

Who knows.

not being argumentitave, just trying to see what people think, no biggie, its just that theres blue on almost every piece of cladding, I think I am going to take a knife to each piece and see whats going on.. either way im painting it soon. No rough edges guys, all love! thanks!!

I've never heard of an all blue from the factory. the RPO code in the glove box does not list the cladding color, which is why its such a bitch to research colors.

Odds are, when you pull the cladding you will find argent below the white and blue.

However, someone went to lots of trouble to make this all white ---be an interesting treasure hunt!

BAHH, as expected, I think I found Grey on the bumper, I was washing it and where the license plate light (where it jiggles) theres clearly blue and a nice grey underneath. I will keep looking and I will get some pics of the progress. I think step 1 will be a complete stripping of the interior, then everything else (including the engine bay) PAINT, then reassembly.
