Strip small areas with sandpaper one layer at a time. You can feather the colors and we'll all see the painted history of the truck.

The trucks that seem to be beleivable to be done in a one off solid color, all seemed to be done for GM employees. In James Thomas (Teal/Teal) case, I think his cladding all had grease pencil marks indicating teal. His isn't verify, but to me its seems pretty plausible.

Thats not paint on the firewall its undercoating, spray it down with thiner and water 50/50 mix and it will come off
