    749 stock injector driver questions

Cool... Please excuse the pun. Let us know how it goes. Jim, you can get the sunbird diagrams here. http://www.diy-efi.org/gmecm/ecm_info/1227749/ under "Schematics/service info" According to this thread, pins C11 and C12 are joined inside the ecm meaning all 6 syty injectors are firing...

    749 stock injector driver questions

It is my understanding the the syty 749 has two injector drivers that each can handle two P+H injectors as in the case of the turbo sunbird. Questions: 1. If I jump terminals D5 to D6 and C13 to C15 as in the sunbird wiring, will the syty software run both injector drivers? 2. When...

    Running rich at start up

Same thing happened to my Ty. The Vac line to the pcv valve was kinked. Check to see that you can suck through the line from the throttle body end. The chip is calibrated to run correctly with this 'vacuum leak' so when its not getting that air flow from the pcv, it makes it run real rich at...

    Injector drivers and twin TBI

I am working on a twin 2bbl TBI project for a streetrod. They will be fueling a big block with a 6-71 blower. I was wondering if the common injector driver upgrade for p&h injectors would be a sufficient upgrade to control the 4 low impedance TBI injectors split in two batches. (Fairchild...

    DIY WB input voltage

Jim, Since the wb O2 is heated, do you think it would be ok for a portable one to be mounted in a piece of pipe and coupled to the tailpipe temporarily using somekind of flexible hose for dyno tuning as long as it seals good? This would eliminate removal of the stock O2 or the need to weld in a...

    UR6, BKUR6ET question

I went to napa to get some UR6 plugs and all they had was NGK BKUR6ET. They had 3 electrodes. Anyone have experience or want to share some info on these plugs? Are they ok to use?

    Vaccum / Boost leak finder.

I found a little trick that helps find those leaks. Its similar to the bicycle tube trick, but doesn't require a bicycle tube. Just pull the IC hose off the turbo compressor outlet and block it off with a can or freeze plug or something round that fits. Pull off a large vaccum line, like the...

Just installed TE61 and 3" exhaust

I used an air compressor with a regulator to pressurize everything from turbo in and I found a few leaks. The worst one was the large plug on the side of the TB. I fixed that and it made a huge difference in spool, but I'm still getting some leak action going on at the rubber IC to TB hose...

Just installed TE61 and 3" exhaust

Limit engineering turbo by John Craig. On the turbine side it is Precision 3 bolt A/R=.63 I am using the adapter, but I had it surfaced at a machine shop before installing it and it doesn't appear to be leaking anywhere. The gate is an external ATR that comes with the downpipe. The gate...

Just installed TE61 and 3" exhaust

I just finsihed installing a TE61 turbo with the ATR 3" downpipe and exhaust. The exhaust is 3" straight pipe all the way from the turbo back. I plan to install a 3" cat in the near future. Right now I am running a stock 2 bar chip with no egr. The engine is stock and stock injectors. I...

    3" catalytic converter No muffler

Thanks guys. That's what I was thinking, but wanted a second opinion.

    3" catalytic converter No muffler

I'm having 3" exhaust put on my ty and the guy at the muffler shop says that if you install a cat with no muffler after the cat, that the cat will not last. Is this true? I see no reason that it would be true, if the converter is mounted in the stock location.
