12" front rotor swap

Just like the title................ i've done searches in this forum and tech and can't get anything positive........I want/need to know what is involved and parts required. Does someone sell a pre-fab kit? I don't want to swap to the 13" C5 brakes, just the 12" (C4?) as i want to keep my stock wheels.........and i don't want to spend the $$$ on a bear or like kit ............... i apoligize if this has been covered before, but i can't find a thread that covers it all

I have my Baer C4 kit w/ rotor for sale if you want.

I have the 12" kit from CBR and the difference was insane. Much better braking power and fits under the stock wheels.

I'm in the middle of swaping out the rears, much more work involved then the fronts but after its done I will be happy to get rid of the archaic drum setup.

No one ever made a C4 12" brake kit with thin 12" C4 rotors. (Baers 12" kit, used 12" rotor based on C4 13" rotors). It would be just as much work as 13" C4 brakes. For the money, I would use the LS1 12" brake CBR makes. IMO It has the best improvement for the money spent.

Thanks guys, I went w/ the CBR kit.................. driver side is on and the pass. side is next............. seems to be going well and the directions are user friendly..........

You wont regret the CBR kit great kit great price and excellent customer support. I had hit cut the spindles and they look factory and were done right when he said they would be. There are a few companies that could learn a thing or 2 about customer service. He even took the time to answer countless email before I bought the kit.:tup:

so on the website there a complete kit for the F-bodies, and only the brackets for the C5 kit... does that mean we're on our own getting the rotors and calipers for the C5 kit?

that archaic drum setup is what helps build boost and hold the truck at the line. much more surface area than disc's and almost 100% contact patch esp with full length shoes front and rear.

I was still able to hold 10# of boost with the LS1 rears. I never tried going more - with either setup.
