Where can I get the chip burner and ostrich emulator?

You only need one or the other depending on whether you want to pull your chip and reburn it for all your changes or if you want to emulate on the go.
moates.net is where I got my aldl cable, ostrich emulator and G1 adapter but Hood at hoodtuned.com sells a complete tuning package that includes all of these. You would also want a wideband O2 sensor patched into your ecm. Also make sure your truck is in excellent running condition before you tune, i don't think it's possible to tune out something broken.

Do ALOT of reading here in the tuning section as well as code59.org before you begin any tuning whatsoever. It will help you understand what you are actually doing with all of the products I listed.

If I use an emulator do I always have to have the laptop in the truck plugged in at all times or is it like reflashing the computer? Sry I'm new to all this thanks for all the input..

no. You will only need to hook up a laptop when making changes or datalogging. The emulator just allows you to make changes on the fly with out pulling the chip and reburning it.

It is completely plug and play with the G1 adapter (adapts to our ECM). You will just need to download a starter .bin (tune) to work with with. The ostrich is about the size of a deck of cards acts as your chip that you can change tunes on fly.

Im not sure what moates has that's all in one, link? The ostrich 2.0 is what most are using to emulate. You need the aldl cable to datalog with tunerpro as well as the emulator to tune your chip, both will be plugged into your laptop at the same time. Datamaster is a good tool to use too. Alot of members can here can help you read your datalogs from datamaster to tell you what your truck is doing as well as tunerpro.

The all in one you have linked will allow you to emulate AND burn chips. The Ostrich 2.0 is just an emulator.....

So I will still need the aldl cable to datalog with tunerpro or datamaster. My .laptop only has usb ports do I need anything else to datalog or just the usb to aldl cable?
