4x4 Jimmy To Ty Conversion

Hi, new to the forum here, I've always have loved the typhoon, now I have come across a 4x4 jimmy for cheap, but not into the 4x4 thing. Then I got thinking, of how sweet this truck would look lowered and with ty ground effects. Why stop there, change out the t-case, throw in the suspension and top half of a stock ty and a few other parts and make this as real as I could without buying a ty. But parts and knowledge are holding me back, would need a parts truck that was totaled, and poeple that could help me do it right, that brings me here. Any suggestions?

wanting to buy a totaled or rolled ty to have a whole truck to work with, would love to buy one already done but can't, Hoping I could do this in about 3 -4 years I'm in no hurry on the turbo or awd, but the ground effects and suspension would be a great start.

You are posting the same thing in two different threads. The Administrators and Moderators will get upset if they catch you doing that.

Just a heads up before someone shows thier ass.

No problem. I figured you'd prefer a mild ass-chewin' compared to an all-out slug-fest w/ a mod.

If any mods are reading this, I'm crawling back under my rock now...

Are you ready to spend 3k or more for the ground effects alone?

That is just a start of what you are getting into project wise. As mentioned your cheaper to buy a syty to start.

If you are really serious I am in Louisville and the unofficial local hub for all syty activity.

muffler bearings are completely different between a jimmy and a ty. not sure you can do the swap at all.

Is a jimmy/blazer frame the same as a ty frame. If they are different what parts are different?

Clean up the Jimmy, sell it for a profit, buy a beater Ty, and fix it up. I will be cheaper, and worth more if you go to sell it.
