4x4 rear end width from backing plates

Dont yell because I looked.

I know the WMS to WMS I need to know backing plate to backing plate measurement


Reason being is I was talking to a salvage yard about a rear end and they had their guy measure it from backing plates so he says, and he said it was 54.5 . Now I am looking for a 2wd width stock is 54.5 from the wms I am wondering if a 4x4 is 54.5 from the backing plates.

Any one ? I just dong want him to send me the wrong one

I think they are all the same( s-series) except for the zr-2 which was 1.5 inches wider than a regular one. Maybe try zr2.com and do a search there. I use to be a member there and recall seing some posts about different rear end width's.

4x4 rear axle is 5 inches wider than 4x2 and zr2 is 1.5 inches wider than 4x4

if someone can take a few minutes and lay under their truck and measure from the backing plate to backing plate and let me know what they get that would be awsome!
