Dunno if anyone else has ever done this, but I have been wanting to do it for a while and finally got some motivation while the cluster and all was out.
Picked up the LED strips at Advanced Auto parts about a year ago. Took 2 1/2 strips to go the entire 31" of the shelf.
When I was addressing the wiring clusterfawk, I had an alarm light that had been drilled into the panel under the steering wheel, so I got a switch and ran the lighting to that switch so I can flip it on and off if I don't feel like having them on.
Matches up to the gauges and the stereo pretty good. Next will be to install the pillar gauges that I have, that SHOULD match in the same blue color.
Some may like it, some may hate it, but I happen to like it and with everything matching now on the inside light wise, to me it makes the dash look a little more modern.
Sorry for the crappy picture quality. Took them with my phone.
