Can you guys shed some light on how the saab 9000 IC's are fabricated to work in these trucks? I would really like to convert my truck but am wondering how to set it up? Any body have pics on how the air 2 air setups are fabbed up? Sorry, just a newbie trying to get educated... :D

I did the same setup on my GN (powerstroke FMIC). Im just unsure on how it would work on the syclones seeing how the throttle body doesnt face the front of the truck like a GN does. If you do go the air 2 air route, would you then have to convert to electric fans? If not, how would you plumb the IC piping over or around the regular fan?

The Saab part number is #4396818. I picked mine up off of ebay as well. It is off of the 93 to 98 2.3l 9000 (I might be off on the 93) and it is the one with the outlets that point upward and out ward on the end of the tanks NOT the outlets that point backwards. The company I picked mine up from has a current auction on the same intercooler. See below:

I just called them and they honered the e-gay price and had it to me in just a few days. Very nice people to deal with.::eek:k::

It works very well for me and was an NOS part (brand new) still in the Saab box.MAT temps are SUPER LOW! Dan (sy1907) and I made some DM runs and @16 pounds of boost on a 72'ish degree night. Temps at the start were 85 deg. and at the end of a 1/4 mile pull were 122 deg. as I recall. With my stock air to water I never had seen temps below 120 just cruzing around on a cool night.

I was looking for flow numbers for the longest time but could not find any. There is a site out there somewhere that has an informal test posted that says that the saab dose not flow very well but that test A. i don't think was very controlled and B.uses the old style with the elbows on the end tanks (the one you are not supposed to use).Spool in my truck w/the stock converter is insane. We were leaving at like 15 psi as I recall and it was a fun handfull at the top of first gear so I don't believe there is mutch flow restriction at all. I kind of gave up but what ever they are I think it seems to work very well for an affordable air to air conversion.

EDIT* I found the link for the intercooler test. Again the i/c used here is the older Saab one. Compare it to the above e-gay link and the pic and you can see the differance.
