Alaska syty gathering??

hey guys

me and another forum member (The Bronze) were trying to get a little gathering going on during the month of september. it would be nice if we could get maybe half a dozen trucks together and have a little meet and greet. maybe try to pool the collective knowledge of alaska syty's together and see what we got. so any of you alaskan's chime in let me know if you would be up for a little gathering.

Didn't see this thread until now (AK owners hardly post). Maybe a meet in the spring?

I have only seen 1 other Sy (<<< the dent dude, Jason?) and 1 beat up Ty here. The Ty is the one from Kodiak and it's sitting at J's muffle in Anch.

I live in Palmer.

Ok. This could happen. Wierd thing is, I heard AK has the most trucks per capita (25+) I think. We'll see if some more chime in.

Im here!!!! Gotta get a prop shaft in and change my heater core but am down for a meet!!! Maybe we can meet at my shop depending on how many show up lol

Three and counting. Think I met you at the Wasilla sports arena running auto x.

Numbers are getting better. Gotta get mine back together too.

Does anybody have a date set for a get together? Even if I don't have a SyTy it would still be cool to meet some of the locals.

I am in Fairbanks. I am about to finish up the paint on the Sy. I probably can't make it till Memorial Day. I am hoping to get down there for the drags!

That weekend is booked for me (Tanacross). Not side stepping, just already dropped some bills, but there's acouple of things to think about with that weekend.

Everybody and their brother will be driving and the strip will probably be packed.

A later date? Then we could try contacting the strip to see if a time slot (1/2 hr, 1 hr?) could be reserved for Sy's & Ty's (guaranteed track time) the same goes for burger/resturant with parking and bs'ing. Also there's acouple of car show weekends (don't know the dates off the top of my head).

Alot will depend on the number of people attending and location. Just throwing things out there. I also know we are in a short season time crunch.

Really need more people need to pop in, but we also can't wait to long before setting dates, location and what's going to happen.

Bump. You Alaska guys still around. The bronze sorry man we could not get together life happens know what I mean. But for us guys up here we should really try to get a meet.

Still here. My May is shot. We will be in anchorage the 2 or 3rd weekend in June though. My schedule should be firmed up sometime next week.

hey The Bronze good to see your still around. it would be great to meet up with you when you come to anchorage.I work at that spenard shell gas station across the street from chilkoot charlies six nights a week. i close so i am there till about 2:30 am or so. and to the other alaskan syty's swing by it would be great to meet you guys and see your trucks. or give me a call and lets meet up.

Well ****, I kinda brought this thread back from the dead awhile ago and now I'm scheduled to be gone all summer. I leave at the end of May and put a hold on getting the Sy going. Atleast I'll have next winter...

Would like to see everyone get together and maybe try to start an annual?

There's an old thread on akmotorsports for a meet too.

Still trying...

Any chance on getting this to happen in the next 2 or 3 weeks? Would Talkeetna be middle of the road for everyone? and or it's autocross season. Next event is Aug 18th (i think). The strip is up and running too.

Truck isn't finished, but drivable.
