alky injection option?

not stock
ok...well my sti came stock w/ an IC water sprayer - for helping cool down between runs or something. I dunno.

Anyway i'm wondering if this would be a viable option for alcohol injection on the ty. Here is what the sti consists of:

STI I/C Water Spay Button

Our Price $21.16
This is the stock I/C button that come on the 04 STI. The colder the intercooler is, the more horsepower you get.

STI I/C Water Spray Bottle

Our Price $99.35
This the I/C bottle that comes stock on the 04 STI. This bottle includes a pump, and level sensor.

STI I/C Water Spray Nozzles

Our Price $8.97
These are the stock nozzles that come on the 04 STI. The colder the intercooler is, the more horsepower you get. Nozzles are sold individually.

it seems to be a pretty cheap 'kit'. I guess you'd want a different switch/trigger (this one you have to hold down during use).

Those pieces seem appropriate for an intercooler sprayer, but not for alky injection setup.

Use something proven for alky usage, IMO. Shurflo pump based system, aka Julio's setup, would be my choice.

What about this idea onto the stock or dquick or griffin CCHE? Would there be benefit to spraying cold water or alcohol between runs to help lift the heat?

of course... but i wouldn't spray alcohol on the core though.

? Why not? That is essentially what these do. They spray right in front of the scoop for the intercooler so that the incoming air carries it onto the intercooler. Seems workable to me.

why would you want to spray alcohol into your engine bay?? Its not going into the air charge.
Seems like a good idea to me, I don't know much about methanol, but if it's like acetone (nail polish remover) it evaporates pretty quickly and is gets pretty cold when air moves over it.

I got it and i find it perfect for every turbo car.Temp drops A LOT not to mention the increased octane rating of methanol. I use pure meth with two 15 injectors. The progressive kit is the best imo

My thoughts are the heat would make it evaporate and take more heat with it. But my engine bay is nothing to speak of. Lower CCHE, worst case it might help degrease by crossmember, which wouldnt hurt my feelings either. :)

The progressive-system seem's perfect for running higher boost on pump-gas, I should have some number's for my 92' Typhoon pretty soon on 93 octane.
