got rained out last week so was really jonesin to get a run in.

need to dial the 60 ft back in but with a bit more boost truck ran:

1.602 60ft
6.751 1/8th
103.54 mph

10.57 et
128.36 mph

got some issues to deal with before we head back out again.

hopefully have em sorted out for next week.

last nite was the 1st time i didnt have do do any white knuckle steering at the top end. ever since the lockers went into the truck it would get squirrly and hard to keep straight right before the traps. try that at over 100mph and it makes your heart pump, scarey to!

anyway got the front end realigned with max caster at 5, and toe changed a bit. prior to this run The least little correction would give oversteer.
mad mike was in the truck with me once and saw how radical it could get.

I was in the staging lanes for 20 minutes after the 1st run when i realized i didnt have to do any crazy steering at the top end. truck now goes straight as an arrow and the crowd no longer sees the tail lights bouncing back and forth at the top end.

track wasnt hooking last nite, did one run where i blasted the tires till it hit 3rd gear, smoke coming out all 4. that run was 10.61 @129.24 w/ 104.01 mph at the 8th.

How many Syclones get beat on this regularly at the track? I swear Ed goes every week. A while back, many were uncertain how long a Sy would live in the 10s. Ed has shown that they live for quite a while

And yes, I know Ed's build is strong - but it is still breaking new ground in my opinion.

but yes my goal is to go at least once a week. ya know last week was kinda funny. we were standing around shooting the bull waiting to see if they would get the track dry. one of the fastser quick 8 guys said to us. You guys look like ya got something new and your jonesin to try it out.

as for makin it live in the 10's I think its pretty simple.

motor has the bottom end stuff it needs (except bowtie strength) and bowtie oiling.

(stock block oiling is good to 7k rpm, bowtie oiling is better at high rpm).

The tune keeps it from self destructing.

And everyone knows i wouldnt be doing what i am if i was using a 700 trans.

I also think 3 tranny coolers with fans helps me keep what i have from getting killed.

as for cooling we now can do back to back runs with 15 minute intervals using remote water pump to cool it down to 140 from 190+ so getting it cooled down between runs is no longer an issue.
fwiw I wont make a 2nd run if it aint ready.
If i hear anything whatsoever i lift immediately.

not much else to it really.

and yeah every run gets datalogged and analyzed.

Me either... At the podunk track I go to Im usually the only one with a laptop. Not even the ricers with turbo kits or even the factory turbo cars with mods are data logging. Do they just bolt mods on and stand on the gas or what?? Hell, my laptop and power inverter have more miles on it than any car I drive so its beyond me whats up with that.

Anyways, smoking all 4 to 3rd gear is cool and a guarenteed crowd pleaser. Give em hell Ed.

i mean I started this from a measely 14.4 to where we are today and that over the course of 2- 3 years.

funny thing about this is that i now do in the 1/8th mph what i used to do in the 1/4!!!

I think the reason some get tired of me posting that i went .1 or . 5 faster or whatever is they are having difficulty with kr cuz the motor is tired or they just dont want to spend the bucks, or are more difficulty trying to get out of the 13's or 12's or whatever so they figure a tenth or hundreth faster is no big deal. what many dont realize is the faster you go the harder it becomes to shave off that extra increment of time. big et drops are easier to came by the slower you are going.
then again maybe they just dont like me!

as for having the balls to go: i think waht you are probably saying here is that you wish you had a trans that you didnt have to worry about genading so you could go more often.

atco is only 10 minutes from my house and 30 drinving from my shop. i actually pass my house to and from the track with the trailer. so this does make it easy to go.

as for the visor. i allready know from the past the visor is worth 2 tenths. lol

the other thing about posting new times: other thatn just keeping it running correctly, mechanically sound, and looking good, isnt racing or knowing the potential in its ability to race what this bbs is all about?
