Ed hess uses 2 of the one in the front and one for the rear and works really well for him.

Re: Anyone Using A Line Lock

a trans brake would be more violent on the tranny/rear end parts. i have dual line locks that i put in, i havnt used them do to a bad transmission but that will definitinly do the job

...how`s about the msd 6al with the rpm 2 step rev limiter (which gets around the
vacuum-neutral build up and subsequent hard brake pedal depressure procedure)
and a line lock with proportioning valves (with perhaps better brakes, such as larger wheel
cyclinders in the rear, or disc brakes all around).

I know some members have tried e-brake launching but Im not sure how
successful that has been.

i ask, becuase depending on how its setup...you could add another lockable lever that holds the brake for you as you press the gas pedal. Then just have a release button when you reach you desired boost pressure and the brake comes off and you laucnh.

rather than guessing how much brake pressure i had, I installed gauges on the front and rear cirucits. added a bypass solenoid to bypass the proportioning valve, larger wheel cylindrs and use larger shoes for ft and rear of rear drums, i.e. buy 2 sets of shoes and throw the small ones away.

in your case a set of gauges will help so that you can find out what the 'true pressures are that you can obtain using the hand controls. And then make adjustments to those controls.

done right, dual line locks will make the truck just sit there and with solid mounts it will look like it is sittin on a t-brake. i.e. it aint moving at all from torgue including the driver front corner lift.

with the line locks set and full pressure we max the guages out past the scale!

doesn't Richard Lee use hand controls in his Typhoon aswell? I am not sure of a link to his website but I do remember seeing a pic a while back of hand controls in a white Typhoon

Re: Anyone Using A Line Lock

I've got a dual biondo setup... pull up to the line, push the brakes down,
and hit the button.

I can get 10-12 psi launches without working too hard... bigger ones
if I work the pedal a bit more before pushing the button.

It's fun... makes getting a decent light a ton easier.

It was a pain to install... at least the way I did it, anyway. I hid the
solenoids inside the driver's side fender behind the ABS. Can't see
'em when you pop the hood.

sounds interesting to put the solenoids where you did.

dont suppose you have a pic that shows them hidden cause then you wouldnt see em anyway. :)

how were you able to bleed them.

I may have run into a clearance issue that relocation may be a better answer than a heat shield,

any thing else you can offer on putting the solenoids into the fender cavity?

Re: Anyone Using A Line Lock

Thanks for all the input fella's -

I plan on re doing the brakes all around with the 12" 01 zo6 dual piston calipers for the front and the rear disc setup for the rear - I also plan on using the bear 2 piece in the front and the single in the rear as well with hawk pads - i use a similar setup on my GTP and the stopping power was a huge diffrence.

I had planned on changing the master as well to fit the new system.

I plan on doing all of this after rhe winter here in ny - i would do it now but all my money went to the body shop and mike at RPM for my turbo and other upgrades. I do have pictures of my hand controls but i can't figure out how to attach on a post yet ? anyone can help me with that ? maybee not allowed 2 yet ?

I really am more interested in a soft launch - as much as i would like to leave the line at 15 psi i know that i am going to break something that i haven't replaced yet on the truck and i am not to interested in doing that, more of the ability to leave the line under 10 psi and mostly on the soft side unless there is a good buck on the run than i will risk it ? But mostly to achive some degree of boost out of the whole this way i can achive my 20 psi or more faster and without the lag ?

will a single line lock for the front with the upgraded brake setup i speak of above be enough to launch at 10 psi and below ???? I am only going to have room for 1 button on my hand control maybee 2 but i cant really use other valves or devices due 2 both hands are in full use and my legs are not doing anything for me but taking the ride with me..

At this time i can't even get 1psi without smacking my leg with my handcontrols.leaving the line with no boost ,and with the front mount intercooler and no boost out the hole there is serious lag, on a roll it is a completely diffrent story.

if anyone is interested in my other ride check out my home page.

Thanks in advance for all of your input

Re: Anyone Using A Line Lock

That is great 2 is better than 1

So i would need a dual line lock setup with a poportioning valve , to adjust the front and rear pressure ?

Or can I get away with the dual line lock with the planned brake upgrade I spoke of ?
