ATR headers burning up plug wires.........

My ATR headers are burning up plug wires and boots. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there spark plug boots that can handle the heat from the headers?

u need to run the drivers side from the back side of the engine up to the plugs and the passenger side down from the valve covers and get the dei boots and u will have no problems ,see my pic i posted in members projects on header wire routing i did if this helps

Definately run the DEi Boots, but you can also buy the Jacob's Ceramic Boot wires from Summit. I Ran them on my truck for 3 years without any issue, i just had to replace them from the heat. I run my under on the drivers, and over on the passengers. They are a little pricey but work well.

sounds like the wires arent run right. I've had/dealth with ~10 sets of atr and once run correctly they arent a problem anymore.

I was cooking No.6 and No. 1 plug wires so I made sleeves out of 2" header wrap and stapled them . To avoid rust I will replace the staples with stainless fishing line and sew them.. the entire project took a whole 10 min
