ATR stainless tailpipe

The ATR stainless tailpipe suspension rod does not match up with the Stock typhoon hanger. I called ATR and asked them if they sent me a Syclone tailpipe by mistake. They said the Syclone tailpipe is much longer and would extend beyond the bumper. The hanger rod seems to match up with a hole in the frame. Anyone experience this problem and what to do about it?

Re: ATR stainless tailpipe

I haven't installed mine yet, but I will compare it to my stock system in the morning and see if it lines up

I dont know if it is right, but i thought I read somewhere that the 92 and 93 mounts were in different places, and you just have to move them.

I installed the 3" cat back on my '92 TY a few weeks ago. I had to move and modify (rebend) the hanger mounted to the frame.

try reading the instructions, last time I looked, it states that they redesigned the hanger for the tailpipe section and they include a new hanger and bracket thats much different than stock.

I simply chose to cut their hanger off and weld it on where I wanted it, so problem solved for me :)

I had the same problem with mine. I cut to "rod" off of the tail pipe and welded it the extra muffler clap supplied. then looped it thru the rubber mount and tightened the clamp.

Re: ATR stainless tailpipe

looked at the exhaust that came of the truck.... mine has a hanger where the ATR hanger is, which was cut off and moved to within about 3" of the end of the tailpipe.... not sure why that is, but it worked that way

Re: ATR stainless tailpipe

Thanks for the replies. My typhoon is a 93 and I heard the hangers were slightly different. I will cut off the hanger and reweld it as suggested.
