Autometer gauge

I have an autometer boost gauge in my truck and the light hasn't worked in it since I bought it, so upon investigation I found that there was no light bulb in it. So I ordered some WLED5's from superbrightleds.com and just put it in today and it still wouldn't work!!!! So I start tugging on the white wire and sure enough, it pulls right out with a clean cut right through it. So I took my dash apart and re-installed it and ran the wire back through. Finally it works, so tonight I went for a drive to check it out and it's not bright at all!!!!! I know other members are running these lights and said they're bright. I have a sport comp gauge. Anyway to get it brighter or what?

You tore your dash out to tie into 12 volts for your boost gauge illumination??? Man, that's hardcore. Most folks tap right into the dimmer control for the interior lights and call it a day...

Re: Autometer gauge

Alright, I'll have to pick up a voltmeter then. I didn't really take the whole dash apart. Just the area near the cd player. I had to pull the white wire back through the hole down along the back of the cluster. I might have it plugged into the wrong area on the fuse box.. I think it was labelled "lghts"...don't exactly remember. They turn on when I turn on either the parking lights or the headlights. Looks like the blue lights only comes on around the edge of the gauge which I think is normal, but should be brighter...
