Axles Anyone????

Top of the morning to you! I have heard that the axles in our trucks are weak? I read some where that there was a direct bolt on from a newer s10 variant? So what I wanted to know was what should I be looking for in the junk yard for a direct bolt on replacement? Am I even correct about the axles? Nacho Grassy Ass for any input!;)

So what would be considered "big power"? I have a crate motor from RPM and soon will upgrade the turbo to thier stage 1.

Axles are plenty strong for stock power, unless there is wear or pitting. I would be more concerned about the pumpkin. But if your doing all the power mods, if your budget allows, replace old or worn components.

I put strange axles in mine and I'm only making a little more than stock.

what width are your axles 59? The S10 2wd guys track down the 8.5" rears that came with a factory 11.7?" vented disc and caliper. Those axles are 54" though, I happen to have a spare 54" one right now but i've seen them in 59 (4wd) and 62" (ZR2). They are 30 spline shafts and a heavier built rear end but i've still got mixed feelings about keeping mine behind my build thats going to have slicks on it I know the G80 has to go but its worked really well in the past with lower HP builds on 245 kumoho tires.
