base boost with minigate and stock turbo 5-7psi?

im running without a boost controller now and my question is in the topic. ive got a steady (and loud) 7 psi :lol:

Thats normal.
Get a stiff spring fot your base boost in order to have solid /steady boost

i plan on removing the cat, hopefully the base boost will rise a little with that. i definately need to get some controller to crank it up a little thats for sure

Well , the main thing is that the stock #8 turbine is very small and there is a lot of back pressure that helps the gate to open sooner
With a stiff spring the "cranking" point goes higher. Cranking point is the point that your gate opens, that is lower than your boost. In your case id say it starts opening at 4-5 psi
When i installed a very stiff spring my boost became SOLID .

My base boost is 22 psi though

actually i can hear it start to open right at 0-1 psi im guessing this is way too low? its supposed to be a 10lb sping in the minigate

chances are you have the 5 psi spring.

yeh i can get em.. not sure on price as it is not a standard item they sell separately. I'll know tomorrow when i pick one up for Mike.

turns out i had the wrong spring, got the right one in and all is well now.
