just a lil rant here.i recieve my new belltech's yesterday via ups and was horrified in the condition in which i recieved them.
first of all the damn things are'nt powdercoated they are painted , which i coulld have done better with a bruch and water colors.
and thay looked like they were drug behind the ups truck to my house instead of put in the truck. they were all scatched up and just looked like ass.
i called sumitt racing and the rep offered to credit me $50.00 for the problem. saying by the time they paid to have them shipped back and send out new ones they would have that in shipping alone.
i told him i would call back today and let him know my decision.

whay do you guys think i should do? i have spent a ton of money on powdercoating the frame and everything that can be coated and painting everything else that can't be coated. i can't see putting shitty looking springs on when everything else looks brand new.

advice please.

My Bell Techs are painted as well, looks like a quick spray shot.
Mine also came shrink wrapped with the shipping label on the outside of the shrink.
They had drag marks on them, but i figured they are gonna see worse under the truck anyways.

Guess its all in what you really want out of it.
I'd say a $50 credit would settle it for me, then just re-paint them with gloss or POR-15.

Honestly I don't think they powder coat leaf springs because they flex.
After a dozen bumps the coating would be chipping and flaking off, I'd imagine.

I called bell tech on this and they said its an error in the catalog, (for the last 7 years) they are just painted. Find a local spring shop have the dissasemble the spirings get them coated and ressemble them It was 150 total for me.

have you had any problems with them chipping or cracking from flexing?

A better question might be - "have you driven your truck since you had them powder coated?"

smartasses(it hasent even rolled) I have 15k on a set of powdercoted coils and no problems

next question.... the wedges that set the pinion angle are all rusted up and barely have any threads left. the dealer only sells these with the whole leaf. where can i get these or is there a fix to the ones i have? can the bolt be removed? mine have so much crud on them i can't tell.

while you in there get a set of axle set back plates from jags the run. It will fix the factory piss poor alignment problem.

What this does is move the axle back the needed distance to set the wheel center in the wheel opening.

i'm preparing for the belltech leaf install... but im thinkin of goin a lil lower than what the springs offer... so lets say i toss in the drop leafs and 1" blocks... what degree angle am i gonna need for that plate that place is selling... and Jason... if you read this, i know you have drop leafs and a 1" block, roughly how many fingers can you get between your tire and the cladding?

i wanna lay this all out and only do it once... correctly!

and to comment on the rant...

i ordered mine through JC whitney $82 each with free shipping. I was planning on doing this install last weekend, so i figured what the hell and spent $5 to have the springs sent FedEx ground (3-5day delivery time). I ordered the springs monday morning and they went out on monday. Friday i get home from work, and theres only one leaf spring... WTF??? so i get online and check my order from JC... ok both springs went out at the same time. Call FedEx, tell them both were sent out at the same time, wheres my other one???? "well its possible it could be on another truck... our drivers deliver as late as 9pm" ok... well if he doesnt show up can i come pick them up tomorrow? "our drivers deliver on saturday and take monday off, so if you dont get it tonight, you'll get it tomorrow for sure." ok thanks. Saturday... 12pm no spring, 2pm no spring, 3pm no spring, 315 phone call. Yeah im expecting a package that was supposed to be here yesterday... "ok whats the tracking number... ok let me give a call to that dispatch hub and find out whats going on.... ok sir i just spoke with a rep there and unfortunately the drivers do not log out the packages that they take on saturdays, and the rep looked around the warehouse and didnt see your package, so most likely its out for delivery, and our drivers will deliver as late as 9pm" yeah i heard that last night and they didnt show up. i paid extra for fedex specifically to have these this weekend, and both shouldve arrived yesterday together the way they were sent out, this is absolutely unacceptable! i've been waiting around all day for this guy. "Sir i apologize for any incovenience this has caused, but at this point there really is nothing i can do" alright well if the package doesnt show up can i come pick it up? "sir, the dispatch facility closes at 3pm on saturdays" i see... alright well this fvckin guy better show up today! goodbye.

needless to say it didnt show up, and since fed ex is so nice to work on saturdays they dont work on monday. Tuesday night at 730 the spring shows up hahaha, and it was logged in at the local facility on friday 630am... i called them up and they refunded the shipping charges to JC Whitney, and JC refunded my $5 :roll:

i guess all of it was pointless since im still missing parts to do the install, either way thats some bad service from fed ex. :tdown: :tdown:
