Guys, I noticed a leak in the lower stock intercooler cche on my sy and was wondering if it would be better to just replace with stock parts or should I upgrade to something better? Also, how difficult is the upgrade? Thanks!

Dequik makes one. Haven't heard of any better performance from it but if yours is bad might be a option.

Doesn't anyone remember the fitment issues with the dequick fittings? or dequick's service history?? for piece of mind I'd either go with the Griffin replacement unit or go to air2air if you can afford it... just stay away from dequick...

Great so far, any other opinions? Also, I can't find the Griffin replacement ones online. How do I get in contact with them partyboy?

Go to http://www.sytyauthority.net/

click on the vendors buttom on the left..

then click the "G" link at the top

scroll down the page until you see Griffin... contact info is there...

And if you want some info regarding installation there's a detailed writeup with pics on Richard Le's site at http://www.whitetyphoon.com/griffin_cche/index.html

According to Richard's page the Griffin is not a a plug and run either. Does somebody know the price of it? Any experience with it regarding MAT temps before and after?

Later,

Griffin does require you to chop the housing that holds the cche... however,... problem with the dequick is that the fittings supposedly don't allow the cche to clear the sway bar... heard you have to relocate the bung or something along that line... that can become a real pain in the ass if you need to get to the cche or idler arm... As far as I'm aware the griffin doesn't have that problem... You also won't have the problem of waiting months for a cche ordered from Dequick..

Don't believe there were any substantial benefits gained from either replacement cche unit... Dequick or the Griffin... Only thing that does make a difference for MAT's is installing a Aux IC ...

I bent the hell out of the frame around my lower cooler and could certainly use a replacement...

I have the DeQuick CCHE and have not had any clearence problems with the sway bar. Lot's of room there. The DeQuick is much easier to install. Drilling and cutting the stock unit has to be a pain in the ass. Hope this helps your decision.

Bob, as you've read and maybe heard, there may be some probs with the Dequick. Have you experienced any of these same probs? Also, is it efficient and how long have you run it?

Sure, there may be some problems with the DeQuick. Don't all mods have some flaw in them??? I am happy with mine. A bigger plus for me is the direct replacement of it. No cutting of the stock brackets. The Griffin may be bigger but it is just as efficient as the DeQuick(read a few posts up). There may be a problem with the DeQuick CCHE and the front sway bay only if you adjust it in the furthest back position. If you move it so it collects the most amount of air(this is what you want right???) you will have trouble free installation and zero clearence problems. I can send you pics if you would like. This is what I am basing me opinon from. I hope this helps.
