Best spark plug wire for our trucks?

While trying to determine if there is an optimal spark plug wire to use in my truck, I came across some info from the Magnecor website. Has anybody tested spark plug wires and wish to post their findings? How would such a test be implemented? 12v system with 45,000v pulsing coil to determine resistance? I'm not clear on how it would translate if most wires are tested under minimal voltage. Also, wouldn't 45,000v plus just flow through outer layer and not the center core? Just don't have a grasp on the whole concept of magnetic fields and electron flow, mind you.

I use the magnacore race wires. I had mine custom made to my lengths.
I can't say enough about the quality of the wires. The customer service is awesome also.
I believe Don W has had some luck with Magnacore wires also.

I have 8.8 Accel wires on my Sy. But they kinda suck. The boot for the distributer cap is a little too long and tight. I'm always fighting with the wire poping off.

I have another set of Taylor wires in a box that where recommended for our trucks. but, I have not installed them yet.

On my Ty, I still have the stock wires. 140,000 miles.

Taylor wires have been touted as the cat's meow on here for our trucks for a long time. I have never installed a set of Taylors, but I've removed at least a dozen sets from peeps trucks I've worked on. Usually because no matter HOW careful I am (after all it happens EVERY time), I pull the connector out of the #1 or #6 long boot. The set is then junk, so I replace it. I have also gotten two Sys that failed the Room of Doom to pass after throwing the Taylors in the shitcan, with no other changes.

So for me, Taylors are out. I use Delco stock wires. They work well on stock trucks, and last decades if they don't get burned or damaged by frequent plug changes. For a modded truck, or one that receives frequent plug removals for tuning or inspection, the Delcos may not be very durable. But again, the plugs in my engines tend to stay there unmolested for 10 years or more. I've had very good service and results with stock Delcos bought at the local FLAPS.

I like the RPM wires just for the fit, heat shielding, and looks. They fit perfectly and did not touch the exhaust even when not tied or supported. Other than that they perform the same as the stock v6 replacement ones I had up until one of them sat on the downpipe. I've had them off and back on 3 times now and they haven't come apart yet.

In the end copper is copper, the actual quality of the insulation and boot is probably more important for most.

If you're referring to skin effect, that is a problem with AC not DC. Resistance is a property of the conductor based on what it is made of, the size, etc.

Yup, Magnacor (without the "e") Three tricks with plug wires. Good quality to start, heat protection/isolation and use the Taylor plug wire removal tool. A little dialetrc(sp?) grease on the plug helps also.
