Re: Bigger and better.....

Very few people seem to understand what Ive been saying. I never said a new GM crank was $3000. I didnt want a stock crank. I never said an LS1 was bulletproof, but it is going to make more RELIABLE power. An LS1 can pump out 600hp with alot less strain than a 4.3 can.

I didnt decide to pull a perfectly good motor and drop a V8 in the truck. I NEEDED AN ENTIRE NEW MOTOR. So why buy another 4.3, when I have an LS1 in my garage? It just worked out this way.

I didnt mean to ruffle any feathers.

Re: Bigger and better.....

There was one new GM crank in the nation the last time my local dealer checked. I felt for the price it was not worth the money. Scat makes them but they are 3100.00 out the door (Billet crank) not cast junk. If your going to build a motor to put out the power it should have a billet crank and they just are not affordable.
I'd much rather build a Buick 3.8L where I can get a good stroker crank for 400.00. Why the hell can't Eagle or CAT make us some 4.3L stuff?
Oh well... just a dream.
I'd rather have a LS1 engine for sure.. your much better off in the long run with that power plant.
It'll fly!

You didn't ruffle any feathers here, I have seen alot of motors come apart, but yours is a work of art. That is all I'm saying. Go for the LS1 swap with the Colorado 4x4 oil pan as it looks like a bolt in.
