Broken drivers seat structure!?

So tonight I pulled off the drivers seat cover to wash them and the hip bolster support rods are all busted up. Can I fix this?

The foam is the same for drivers and passenger seats. So a passenger side foam from a donor or junkyard truck should / could be in better condition than the driver's you have now. I'm not sure what year you have, but even if it's a 91-92 there are equivalent seats in other S/T and I believe Astro/Safari of the same years, or slightly before.

I don't know what it would take to renew the rods in what you have.....

Thanks. Its the seat from my Syclone. Doesn't look like the foam can be removed, it looks like it was molded onto the steel framework since the support rods are inside the foam (or suppoed to be anyway).

I think I'm going to find someone who can weld and reattach the broken rods, then graft a new piece of foam over the hole and cut it to shape.

Hopefully that'll hold for awhile.

While I have the seats apart, I'm also going to replace the stock lumbar pumps that leak with a pair of medical grade blood pressure pumps.
