Bubba likes me. :dunno:

I don't think Bubba understood that my comment wasn't really a compliment....it was more of an indictment.

Damn that's gold. I burst out laughing.

There are alot of SyTy's out there that are a mess. Mostly because people just throw parts at them...trying to go faster...an never tuning them properly. Then they take them to shops that have no idea how to make them run right....or run at all. They end up being "an absolute mess" just like you said. It's sad really

Bubba didn't have any idea what he was doing, otherwise he would not have done what he did to that truck! All the posts are deleted, but I am sure they had merit, you just could not comprehend it! Stick with what you know. I am not sure what that is, but it is definitely not Sy/Ty's! Please never "fix" another one, there are to few left for us enthusiasts to lose to the likes of you

Re: Bubba's Typhoon

Mark Edwards: So if you are blocking off the EGR passage, are you also removing the CEL from the dash because that will be on a lot unless you remove the ECM or re programme it.

Joseph Keller: Mark....did you think the CEL wasn't going to be on from all of the other stuff that was removed?

Bubbas East Coast Rods & Customs: Thanks for the defense Joe! I have intentionally not engaged with all those who keep taking shots at Bubba and the way he resolved the customers problem. Bubba did the RIGHT thing and now she runs and very reliably. The ECM was removed so the CEL is not coming on. It's not worth fighting with people who don't know the WHOLE story or who were not part of the build process. The simple fact remains that she runs, runs well and drives amazing after many years of sitting because of how butchered she was. Thanks again for the defense Joe. It's greatly appreciated!

Mark Edwards: I am genuinely curious to know how you got around a lot of technical issues. Maybe if you posted a video of the truck running, that would slience the detractors.

Would you do that? Are you familiar with a SyTy boost launch?

Bubbas East Coast Rods & Customs: Mark, you raise a very good point! I'm SICK of the attacks on Bubba over this! I will have out IT Manager record a video on Monday and share it with you. But know this. The truck runs, it runs extremely well and does EXACTLY what the customers budget allowed for. If you have technical questions you would like Bubba to address e mail me at tom@bubbascustomcars.com and I will sit with Bubba and provide you with answers. Bubba does not run this face book page, I as his Manager do. Perhaps some of the confusion is in the way I wrote the descriptions but I can promise you it's not in the way Bubba did the job! I want the attacks to stop from everyone over this. It's enough already. what good is accomplished over ripping someone to shreds when that is not the issue? Bubbas technical knowledge is FAR superior to mine so I don't have ALL the answers but if there is a legitimate question I will get you an answer.

Paul Roth: Mark is on the money... .boost launches are the best in a Syclone or a Typhoon! To do this: 1. Put the truck in neutral 2. Rev it a few times to and press down on the brakes as much as possible to build brake pressure 3. Keep your foot on the brake 4. Shift to DRIVE (NOT OVER DRIVE) 5. Start pressing on the gas pedal now to build up boost.
6. When the boost is where you want it and it is time to go, release the brake and slam the gas at the same time.

Bubbas East Coast Rods & Customs: Paul, That sounds like fun but the truck belongs to a customer and we treat our customers cars with a lot of respect so if that happens it wont be from our vantage point and as the customers is in a wheel chair and we are also installing hand controls for him I'm sure he wont be doing that either. But one thing is certain. The customer will now have a nice, reliable daily driver after sitting for so many years useless because it wouldn't even start prior to coming to our facility.

Mark Edwards; what a cock! Thanks Joe for having bubba's back. ;)

Dear God! Hand controls? I wonder if this will involve baling wire and duct tape.

I know people are thinking this thing will be slow but I don't think it will. If the boost is kept at stock levels, easily done with a manual boost controller, and the intake piping holds up to the boost with out popping off, I think it will haul ass for a little while. The carb can provide enough fuel to match the boost, driveability is going to suck tho. After a couple of runs, the carb will be so hot from the lack of intercooling, it will have fuel boiling out of it. Even if that doesn't happen, that much hot air is going to cause the engine to self destruct from all knock. It probably won't have any timing advance and just run locked timing. Could lock out at low advance to help the engine live longer but this is Bubba! Lets give it as much timing as it needs to run Bubba style! I'll stop now and end it with poor owner. I hope he makes it here and someone helps him De-Bubba it.

Now I feel left out. I am military and I didn't get an "I'm disappointed in you" speak or anything.:(

It's not enough you get shot at and possibly killed but I expect you not to hurt my feelings either..sheesh!:rotf:

The entire thing just looks like a "setup" in order to score a reality TV show.

The sad part of all this is the owner who will NOT get to enjoy this vehicle as he should. I hope when this all blows over that we can contact the owner to make this right. I know I would volunteer my time and any parts to make it right:D

Re: Bubba's Typhoon

Anyone spot a pile of Sy/Ty engine parts for sale anywhere?
Lets see if he volunteered to 'dispose' of the 'junk' removed from the truck by E-Bay-ing them for a bit of cash.
He may of kept within budget for the build, but it won't last long. He shouldn't be afraid of doing a boost launch if he built it right.

I told Bubba I would be interested in the stock parts. He was supposed to get with the owner and let me know.

Re: Bubba's Typhoon

[...] And my biggest "yeah, right" with these shows is the constant harangue "this has to be done in 3 weeks". Oh bull shit. The bike, car, whatever was finished by contractors months ago.

Truth! I've heard stories about the home buying shows, where they've lived in the houses for 1 year before they got around to filming. The place in Vegas that's on TV, is pretty much a souvenir shop for the show now, with nothing being pawned, except for filming days. and even then, how many people really have a campaign button for George Washington laying around in a junk drawer?

Reality TV is about as far from real as you can get.

This is exactly how I feel. It really does piss me off that this asshole has taken advantage of the truck's owner. People like this make me sick! This is the same kind of guy that will first class f*ck my grandma over and come out smelling like roses. That is until someone or a group of someones calls him out on it. Publicly! That piece of shit needs to get in here and at least defend himself, if not answer for his absolute stupidity. Of course, it will be Tom that does anything here because clearly Bubba is either too f'ing stupid to figure out this new internet thing or he's too busy terrorizing unsuspecting customer's cars. Either way... Here's a big F*CK YOU for you Bubba! :fist:

I'm sorry. Rant temporarily suspended. Mods, feel free to edit this as you see fit.
