OH Built ~4.3 Short Block, 4-bolt, Forged pistons, H-Beams 0 Miles, $2,500

Built ~4.3 L Chevy V-6 Short Block -
4 bolt mains, forged pistons, Eagle H-Beam Rods, Ported L-35 Heads, 0 Miles
$2,500 OBO
This motor has 0 Miles and would be excellent as an enhanced DD. It has components that are much more durable than a stock LB4, with slightly higher compression allowing you to run lower boost while making quite a bit more power than stock. The cam is fairly mild but again, much improved over stock. I got hung up on whether or not to pull the heads and short fill the block because of the power potential in the ported L-35 heads. Instead, I dorked around with a high mileage stock mill to get the truck on the road. With so many things that came up in my life, I made the wrong decision and should have dropped this motor in instead.

Block:
-Seasoned 1993 Balance Shaft block, casting #10224535
-Hot tanked and magnafluxed
-4 bolt main caps on #2 and #3 mains, line bored and honed
-ARP main studs
-Clearanced for H-beam rods
Rotating Assembly:
-Crank was shot-peened and polished
-Eagle 5.7" H-beams
-Previously used SRP '40D' Forged 16cc dished pistons
-Fully balanced assembly
Heads:
-#10240209 casting L-35 heads
-Hot tanked and magnafluxed
-Machined for 2.02" int and 1.60" exh valves
-3 angle valve job
-Ported intake, exhaust and pocket areas
-66 cc combustion chambers
Other:
-Cometic Head Gaskets
-Static compression ratio around 9.25:1
-Crane #1439801 camshaft
-New single roller timing set
-New lifters

The long story:
It has been a long journey but the Typhoon fantasy I had in my head several years ago never came to fruition. First the 92' Ty I purchased needed more work than anticipated, then I got hosed by a reputable machine shop. The next life change was getting married followed by the wife unexpectedly becoming afflicted with a serious disease. After a year, my wife improved but a promotion at work demanded additional hours and travel. About a year later, the wife decided to get back to work and we jumped in pursuing her dream of owning a photography studio, www.crystalblackphotography.com (NSFW). Now we have a little one on the way and the shop where I stored and worked on my Typhoon for free is being sold. I am going to be putting the Typhoon back to stock and selling all my parts and then the truck. First up is the built V-6 that never made its way into my Typhoon.

About the pistons; they were purchased from JWaller used, supposedly 4.030" with a 16cc dish. They passed my visual inspection and came in the correct JE SRP 4.030" box. Now, I wish I would have measured them. I shipped them to the machine shop in Chicago for the 4.030" block. Unfortunately, the shop blew me off for months and I had to get the credit card company involved to keep things moving forward. At the end when I finally received the motor and with the most lame invoice ever, I found that I was charged for a 0.010" overbore and new rings. I got them on the phone and went ballistic. They assured me that the block was sonic checked and 4.040" on this block would be no problem, even on a boosted motor. I was not happy and got the credit card company involved again. To this day, I don't know if Waller sent me 4.040" pistons or if I was charged for work that didn't happen. If anyone has ideas on how to measure the bore without pulling a head I'm all ears. The pistons look to be pre 2004 when they laser marked the bottoms so all I can glean is the casting number of 40D.
Unfortunately, I didn't get much money back as credit card customer service people better understand tangibles such as the parts that were not included or the way I got screwed having to pay to ship the motor (I had arranged a trip to Chicago with truck and trailer to pick it up in person and the owner backed out when it was too late for me to change plans).

I will be listing many more items soon, but I'm going to be waiting to sell some of the rare items to give the buyer of this short block first shot:

-An ATR Upper Intercooler, Aux heat exchanger for in front of the radiator and High Volume Pump.
-A Turbonetics 60-1, Ball Bearing Turbo with polished compressor housing. Has less than 30 miles since a factory rebuild.
-A RPM SS Downpipe for external gate with test Pipe (I had an angled O2 bung for the factory Oxygen installed so that it would fit with the under the ATR intercooler and a second bung was installed downstream for a WBO2).
-A Turbonetics Wastegate.
-An external 'Turbo Oil' filter, custom mounting bracket and custom line.
-RPM -10 Oil drain hose w/flange.
-Braided coolant hoses for the turbo
-An ATR SS catback exhaust.
-Precision 2800 stall TC

I am not interested in shipping. It is currently in an engine bag, and was WELL oiled before being buttoned up.

I'll call Dibs on the -RPM -10 Oil drain hose w/flange. If it will work with a PTE Turbo. Guessing it's the link below?

That's the hose, fortunately I got it with black connectors instead of red/blue. I'll let you know if the engine buyer doesn't want it.

The short block is still available. Buyer gets first shot at the rare parts. I will be listing other, more common syty stuff shortly.

Those aren't Eagle "H-beam" rods.

This is:

That's odd. The last picture posted of the engine showed eagle rods. But in the others they sure are not.

It seems cylinder 3 and 4 have eagle , 5 and 6 stock rods.
