i just got the chassis from the powdercoater last night. i am so ready to start putting this thing back together. where can i find diagrams of exactly how everything goes back together. front suspension, rear suspension, etc. basically the whole truck.putting it back together is not a problem just looking for a ref to make sure it is done right and right the first time. thanks for all help.

yes sir , plenty of pics.i don't think this is going to be a problem. i just wan't to have something in hand as a guide so that it is all correct.i am an ass about things being perfect or as perfect as these trucks will let them be. hell you are the one who talked me into powdercoating the frame instead of painting or por-15ing it. by the way thanks.....powder is the way to go. it looks awesome.warmpancakes said:

i'm pretty much doing a frame off.. if I could find a place to powdercoat the frame and it wasn't really expensive, i'd consider that route.. unfortunately I have yet to find anyplace that can handle a frame and doesn't want an arm and a leg for it.. so por-15 it is..

It was 350 (ready to coat)to have mine done 24 hour turn around and you can crash on my couch, and I have broken cladding you can take home with you:tup:

that's a sweet deal on coating. mine was 650.00. sandblasting,acid bath, then coating.

powdercoating frames is a waste IMO. Better off just stripping it and spraying it with an automotive or marine grade black epoxy paint, that way if you change or alter anything in the future, it can be touched up.

The really old school guys are hot dip galvanizing their frames. Apparently it's dirt cheap to do (provided you can find someone in your area) The down side is you have to live with a silver colored frame.(or paint it)

You can blast the galvanizing (to open the pores and give tooth) then epoxy, P.O.R. - 15,
Powder Coat or what ever you want. The ultimate IMO is galvanizing, low pressure blast (glass bead, you don't want to strip it again!) then marine (Navy MIL-SPEC) LEAD BASE PRIMER then paint of your choice and undercoat! And yes you can get the lead, just wear a class 3 or better respirator! Now were talking rust protection and I live in the rust capitol of the world, really the U.S.N. considers the Marianas Islands area of the pacific "The most corrosive operational area are in the world"! :2cents:
