I am finally working on my truck again
my 70mm turbo broke and i found out it
was a mismatched piece junk that was
assembled with parts not meant for each other
any way I can buy a new gt4088 for $719
or a new 67 p trim garrett for $849
combo is ported l35's , .510 210@.050 cam ,
torque converter foot brakes to 3100 @ 0 psi
3900 @ 12 psi , it's got 75 lb injectors , stuff

which would you pick

Are both turbos ball bearing? That's a pretty good price.

I've been really eyeing the 4088R... it looks like a really good match for a cammed/heads motor.

Your header config should allow both to fit, if you had a stock location you might see
some clearance issues.

Really, I don't think you'd go wrong with either.

neither are the ball bearing versions
looking at compressor the compressor map
i think the 4088 may be a little better in the midrange
bit I wonder if it is enough turbo to get to the
low 11 high tens

I think that's going to be more of a function of your tune and traction.

HP-wise, either will support enough HP on paper to get you there. Getting there in practice is a whole other ball game...

I finally got off my butt and made an excel sheet for looking at
compressor maps and the 58mm i put on when my other turbo
died looks better than i thought . I never bothered to go past
15 lbs but i think i will turn it up and see what it is capable of..

btw , for those that saw the truck in kansas last year all the
problem was the fuel pressure regulator vacuum/boost line was off
and the reason the IC tubing was blowing off was because i had rotated
the compressor housing to far messing up the alignment.
